Cutting Boards

We use red oak, white oak, maple, cherry, black walnut and exotic hardwoods such as reclaimed bourbon barrels (you can smell the bourbon in the wood), purple heart, and padauk. Other woods are available upon request. There may be an upcharge for these exotic wood products

2 styles of cutting boards are offered in 4 different sizes. End grain (preferred by chefs for their durability) and edge grain (preferred for its lighter weight). Edge grain boards are normally thinner and typically used in Charcuterie boards. The boards pictured to the left are end grain boards.

End grain cutting boards:

Cutting Board care – Do’s & Don’ts

• Don’t leave the board with standing water on it

• Don’t submerge board in water

• Don’t put in dishwasher

• Don’t place in microwave oven or broiler

• Don’t use edible oils (vegtable oil, etc.) for board treatment

• Do rub all surfaces with board butter monthly or as needed

• Do wash board with a damp cloth & mild soap if needed

• Do dry the board where air can get to all sides including storing on its side to allow for maximum air flow around the board.

SASS Gun Cart Plaques

We will donate $2.00 to the SASS Scholarship Foundation for every order with a SASS logo that we sell. Look for us at Gunsmoke and Land Run SASS events. You can also find our coasters and a gift certificate for gun plaques in a raffle at Reckoning on the Rock. We are a small business and as such we only accept cash, check, or Venmo for payments. Ask for Venmo details in your order form. Domestic shipping is USPS and is typically $5 - $10. International will be quoted at the time of order. Due to the custom nature of our work delivery is usually 1 to 2 weeks after receipt of order form with payment.

Protect and maintain your wood cutting board with our own recipe of food grade mineral oil, bees wax, and carnauba wax mixed into 2-ounce aluminum tins. A complimentary tin is provided with each cutting board purchased. Board care instructions are engraved on the bottom of each tin. Additional tins are available for purchase.

Mounting your gun cart plaque can be done in many ways. Velcro, construction glue, or drilled and countersunk for use with wood screws. 1848 Custom Boards can and will drill your plaques for no charge. We will provide either 3 or 4 holes depending on size and shape of the plaque to create the proper look. There are too many different types of gun carts for us to supply a standard mounting method. We must rely on your knowledge of your equipment to provide the best method for mounting our products. Please contact us during the ordering process or before shipment of the product for any assistance you may require in this area.
